Rare M Photo's and Items Up For Bid At "Julians Music Icons" Auction!

There's quite a bunch of very interesting Madonna items at "Julien's Music Icons" auction, which starts on Saturday June 25th, 2011. It's a live and online auction at "Julien's Auctions" in Beverly Hills.

Some of items, including original early photographs as well as as signed bustier from the "BAM" rehearsals at "Landmark Studios" in Hollywood in 1990.

The collection will be on view free to the public from June 13th to 25th at "Julien's Auctions Gallery" in Beverly Hills.

Madonna - A Pop Icon Turned Into "Barcode Art".

Artist Scott Blake has been turning pop icons, cultural figures, world leaders and rock stars into unique works of art - unique because these giant portraits are made entirely out of barcodes.

And because the images are made of barcodes, they can all be scanned.

"I knew I'd go on to all those legends whom we know just by their first name - Elvis, Madonna, Marilyn."


Here are two Madonna artworks with the respective commentary by the artist himself:



I collected 107 barcodes from the musician's CDs to render this image of the pop star.
Date created - August 30th - 2001.

For this portrait of Madonna I used the cover images instead of the barcodes from her music CDs. I gathered all the thumbnail size images from "Barnes and Noble.com" when I was collecting the UPC numbers. This image definitely looks like a photomosaic, but each tile still only represents one value.

Marc Jacobs: Madonna, I Don't Think Is Showing Any Signs Of Slowing Down...

Marc Jacobs, the American fashion designer - who has been creative director of "Louis Vuitton" since 1997 - recently talked to "WWD" about fashion and pop music:


"Just like in pop music and in the art world, people always want new work from the artist that they like..."

Madonna, I don't think is showing any signs of slowing down...

Marc - who was announced as the winner of the "Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement" prize earlier this year - admitted his company "Marc Jacobs", for which he is head designer, has improved with age.

He added to "WWD.com": "Going through the learning process and working here and in Paris, I personally think we've built a strength in terms of editing.

"We're all in this because we love fashion and part of that love for fashion is being unapologetic."

Madonna On The New Cover Of "Lifestyle Women".

It's been quite a long time since Madonna graced the cover of a Swedish magazine but now the wait is over with a new gorgeous front page on "Lifestyle Woman".
No matter if the image used dates a few years back, the cover look really beautiful with a black portrait by Gilles Bensimon from the 2005 "Elle" photo session while the headlines and the title are printed in silver and Madonna's name is printed in gold and embossed.
