Penelope Cruz On Madonna!

The cast and crew of musical movie Nine had just as much fun behind the scenes as they did on screen, according to Penelope Cruz.

The Spanish actress says she had a novel way of making sure they were all on song.

“I tried to take everybody to karaoke. We were planning it and then it didn’t happen,” said the 35-year-old.

She added: “Most of us went to a concert together to see Madonna and that was really inspiring and really beautiful.”

Adam Lambert Recalls Meeting Madonna!

Adam Lambert says it was “surreal” meeting Madonna.
The American Idol runner-up visited the Queen of Pop at her home in New York — and was greeted at the door by the singer’s 3-year-old son David Banda.
“I was at her house in New York. It was intimidating. Her son David answered the door. I thought, ‘This is so surreal’,” Lambert told People magazine.
“When we talked about singing together, she said, ‘I’m really bossy in the studio. I’ll p*ss you off’. I said, ‘If you p*ss me off, we’d probably make good art’. We bantered, she was cool.
“[She] told me, ‘Keep your eye on the prize’.”

Madonna In Tears After Huge Donation Offered!

US pop star Madonna broke into tears when Brazilian billionaire Eike Batista announced that he would donate $7 million for her welfare projects, a media report said.
During a dinner at Batista’s home Thursday, the tycoon asked the singer how much money she collected and how much more she needed. When she answered that she had $3 million and needed to raise $10 million, the billionaire announced his readiness to complete the sum.
It was at that moment that Madonna was moved to tears, the Folha de Sao Paulo daily reported.
At the dinner were Rio de Janeiro State Governor Sergio Cabral and Mayor Eduardo Paes.
The singer left Brazil Friday after a five-day visit seeking investments for a number of social projects that she wants to launch.
On Thursday before the dinner, the artist made a quick trip to Sao Paulo to meet a group of poor women, with whom she spoke about the positive values contained in the Hebrew doctrine of the Kabbalah, of which she herself is a follower.
The mayor told the media that the singer had accepted his offer for her to perform at the next New Year’s festival, for which some two million people would gather on the Copacabana beach.

Ethan Hawke Praises Madonna For Gypsies Support!

Actor Ethan Hawke on Saturday praised Madonna for her boldness in speaking out against discrimination against Gypsies, words that provoked boos from thousands of fans at her concert in Romania.

Hawke, visiting Romania to help promote his mother’s charity supporting education for Gypsy children, placed the pop superstar alongside Bob Marley and John Lennon as part of a tradition of artists speaking out against racism.

“She transcended being a pop star,” he told reporters. “She drew international attention and shone the spotlight on a level of racism and the need for greater education,” Hawke said.

At an August concert in Bucharest on her “Sticky & Sweet” tour, Madonna called for an end to widespread discrimination against Eastern Europe’s Gypsies, also known as Roma. Thousands of fans responded by booing her.

“I don’t have an agenda, Madonna doesn’t have an agenda. We aren’t politicians,” Hawke said.

Hawke, 38, was to speak later Saturday at the Ovidiu Rom charity Halloween ball. He and his mother, Leslie Hawke, the charity’s president, were already dressed in costume: the actor in top hat and tails and his mother in a Japanese-style kimono, black wig and geisha-like makeup.

New Madonna Photo Book to Come Out Next Year!

We have heard more exciting news about a new project by Fabien Baron, the French art director that is currently the editor of Interview magazine.
Baron, who filmed the footage on the set of the SEX book that was used in the Erotica music video he directed and who shot the Erotica single cover and various other images of Madonna as Dita on the set of that same video, is putting together a Madonna photo book that will feature for the first time ever many unreleased photos of the Queen of Pop.
The book will include unreleased Madonna photos by many different photographers from all the eras in her carrer and is scheduled to be released sometime in 2010. Another great thing to look for next year!
