Madonna Donates Chanel Boots To Auction At Daughter's School..

Madonna has donated a pair of personally-worn and autographed Chanel boots to an online auction site, with proceeds going to New York City’s LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, which her daughter Lourdes attends. Other alumni of the famed performing arts school include Jennifer Aniston, Liza Minelli and Adrian Grenier.

The LaGuardia Benefit Auction, being held May 5-12 at GottaHaveRockandRoll.com, will help raise money so the school can make up for budget cuts in excess of $2.6 million, with more possible cuts on the horizon. Proceeds from Madonna’s boots, which have a starting bid of $1,000, will help support grants to the school’s many artistic studios, as well as tutoring, library upgrades, and after-school programs.

I could wring the neck of my old pal Madonna. She looked spectacular at the Alexander McQueen tribute at the "Metropolitan Museum of Art" the other evening. The iconic star wore a gorgeous blue gown that fit her like a glove, and was in every way suitable to her alluring maturity and her soon-to-be lauded efforts as the director of "W.E.".

But what did M have to say when asked how she felt?

"I feel fat in this dress!" she said. I’m sure designer Stella McCartney loved that!

La Ciccone looked in fact, healthy, trim, but rounded in all the right places. She even cut her hair a few inches which makes a big (positive) difference.I wish she’d stop this foolishness. If she gained twenty pounds she wouldn’t be fat. It’s okay to be a little voluptuous.

Indeed, I caught Madonna and Warren Beatty in their 1990 film “Dick Tracy” the other night. He insisted she put on weight. She did (they were romancing at the time), and she has rarely looked better onscreen. And she’s terrif in that movie too.My favorite scene is when Warren (as Dick) goes backstage to visit M (cabaret singer Breathless Mahoney) whose gangster lover, Lips, has just been killed:

"No tears for Lips?" asks Tracy"I’m wearing black underwear.

""I wonder whose side you’re on", Tracy presses."The side I’m always on", replies Breathless, "Mine!"

I recall when I saw this movie at an early screening, the audience went wild over that line; it seemed to confirm and conform to her public image — the ruthless, ambitious, sexually predatory diva.

She was some of that, but less than she led people to believe. She’s quite different now. But she still has a fine, sane, disregard for public opinion. And she’s still much nicer than she lets on.

"Dick Tracy" To Open "Hero Complex Festival 2011" In Hollywood!

Fourteen-time Oscar nominee Warren Beatty – the very definition of the Hollywood hyphenate as world-famous leading man, an acclaimed director and an elite producer — will be the opening-night guest for the 2011 "Hero Complex Film Festival" to celebrate his 1990 hit "Dick Tracy" and talk about the film future of a square-jawed character who is celebrating his 80th anniversary as an iconic crime-fighter in American pop culture.

Beatty directed "Dick Tracy", which was nominated for seven Academy Awards and won three.

He also starred as the title character, leading a stellar cast that included Al Pacino, Madonna and so forth.

The legacy of the film and Beatty’s aspirations for the property have been back in the news, which will be part of the onstage discussion following the screening of the film.

Tickets are now on sale for the "Hero Complex Film Festival", which runs June 9-12 at The Chinese 6 Theatre in Hollywood (the venue previously known as Mann Chinese 6).
