"Riding The Hoods" With Madonna And Maipol.
Running May 18th through June 19th, the exhibit showcases a series of Polaroid prints taken by French-born stylist Maripol.Featured most prominently, of course, is Madonna, who is photographed in an iconic way, just about everything (think flopsy hats, red lips, one-eared earrings and cigarettes). "She was best as young Madonna. [She was] so free spirited and full of love," says the stylist. "When she just started to be famous, the trick was to go to the "Roxy" and have her wear a wig, so she you could dance with no problem in the middle of the dance floor!

Madonna Inspired Anna Sui First Runway Show.
Anyone who’s been to an Anna Sui runway show knows that music is as big a passion for the designer as fashion—season after season, Sui churns out clothes perfect for bringing out your inner rocker. But who knew that if it weren’t for one performer in particular, we might never have had those runway shows to begin with?In a story on Elle.com, Sui’s list of musical admirers includes everyone from Courtney Love to Stevie Nicks to Mick Jagger, but it was Madonna who, she says, gave her the confidence to start showing her collections on the runway.
Back in 1990, Sui and photographer Steven Meisel were in Paris, en route to Jean Paul Gaultier’s show, when they stopped at the Ritz to pick up Madonna (naturally).
“In her room, she had shopping bags and racks of clothes from every major designer in Paris,” Sui told Elle. But when they got to the show, the singer told Sui that she had a surprise for her—and took off her coat to reveal her black Anna Sui baby-doll dress underneath.
Sui says that was one moment inspired her to present her creations on the New York Fashion Week runways.
Just one more thing to be grateful to Madonna for, we suppose …

Madonna Would Still Look Good In A G-String!
The Mexican actress made the comment while promoting "The Cat's Meow" with Antonio Banderas in Cannes. In an interview with US TV host Meredith Vieira the "Today Show" presenter asked: "You've been speaking a lot of Spanish, I can't understand, what have you been saying?"Salma, 44, replied: "There was a lady wearing a g-string on the beach and I think after 50 you should not wear a g-string on the beach.
"The "Frida" actress later retracted her statement and said: "By the way I'm sure there are some women over 50, like Madonna for example, she would be hot on that beach, but not this particular one. I take my word back, maybe if you are 60 you can still wear a g-string on the beach. If you can work it, do it."

Lady Gaga's Creative Director Admits To Ripping Off Madonna!
Choreographer Laurieann Gibson has helped Lady Gaga with her often spectacle-filled performances. She admitted Gaga was ripping off Madonna in an interview to the LA Times…LA Times:
A lot of her visual aesthetics have been compared to Madonna. As her creative director what are your thoughts on that?
Laurieann Gibson: Listen, [Madonna] should be bitter because I did it on purpose, and you can quote me. I did it on purpose because for all those kids who believe that you can’t, I wanted to let them feel that you can. And that’s what I represent, that’s what Gags represents. That’s what this movement represents.
Gibson probably forgot what she told CNN, a couple of months ago, about Lady Gaga’s Grammy performance:
I’m not inspired by Madonna as far as choreographically.For me, the comparison to the Blond Ambition Tour, absolutely not!
Let’s summarize the Gaga/Madonna rip-off situtation…First Lady Gaga says it’s an homage, then she called the comparison “retarded”, then her producer called it bullshit, now her creative director admits it…
One thing is sure: Gaga’s team is a hot mess!
