"W.E" Press Release!
ABBIE CORNISH, ANDREA RISEBOROUGH, JAMES D’ARCY OSCAR ISAAC, RICHARD COYLE, JAMES FOX AND LAURENCE FOX JOIN “W.E” Madonna’s Directorial Feature Debut to start Principal Photography on 5th July Based on an original screenplay, “W.E”, a film written by Madonna and Alek Keshishian is set to begin shooting this summer in Europe (UK and France) and the US.
“W.E” tells two parallel love stories separated by more than six decades. Acclaimed actress Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch, Bright Star, Elizabeth: The Golden Age) has been cast in the role of Wally Winthrop – a young married New Yorker in 1998 who is obsessed with what she perceives as the ultimate romantic love story, King Edward V111’s abdication for his love of Wallis Simpson. Andrea Riseborough has been cast in the role of Wallis Simpson. Riseborough is best known for her outstanding Bafta Nominated performance of Margaret Thatcher in the acclaimed BBC drama “The Long Walk to Finchley” and will soon be seen in Brighton Rock. British star James D’Arcy (Master and Commander, Secret Diary of a Call Girl) will play the part of Edward VIII. Wally Winthrop”s Russian love interest Evgeni will be played by rising star Oscar Isaac (Robin Hood, Sucker Punch) and her husband William will be played by Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time). Art imitates life as the revered British acting dynasty provides father and son, James Fox (Sherlock Holmes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Bafta nominated A Passage to India, Bafta winner The Servant) and Laurence Fox (Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Becoming Jane) in the roles of King George V and his son, Bertie. 1936 England - Wallis Simpson, an American woman, captured the heart of King Edward VIII.
Already divorced and married to her second husband when she met Edward, then the Prince of Wales in London, the two fell in love. However, once crowned, Edward was told by the Church and the Prime Minister that he could not marry Wallis and remain King… He abdicated, giving up the throne to be with the woman he loved. Once married and known as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, they lived out what many considered to be the romance of the century.1998 N.Y - Wally Winthrop has a troubled past and moves to New York from the South to work in Sotheby’s Estate department. She gives up her job to marry a successful psychiatrist but the marriage is unhappy and Wally finds herself bored, frustrated and often alone. She seeks refuge in her obsession with what she believes to be the ultimate romantic love story, King Edward VIII ‘s abdication for his love of Wallis Simpson. When Wally discovers that there is going to be an auction of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor’s Estate at Sotheby’s, she takes the opportunity to return to her old hunting ground to try to understand the nature of the great love affair through the artifacts that once belonged to the couple. While at Sotheby’s, Wally meets Evgeni, a Russian security guard, with a mysterious past. As she immerses herself deeper into the love story of Wallis and Edward, while spending more time away from her marriage, she finds herself falling in love.
We travel back and forth in time with Wally and Wallis, two fragile but determined women whose lives become inextricably linked. However, as the story unravels it becomes apparent that Wallis Simpson’s life was not as perfect as Wally had thought. The film will be produced by Colin Vaines (producer Coriolanus, exec producer London Boulevard, The Gangs of New York and The Young Victoria) with Executive Producers Kris Thykier (producer The Debt, Kick-Ass, Harry Brown, exec producer Stardust) and Nigel Wooll (exec producer Miss Potter, co-producer GI Jane, White Squall).

Madonna Casts Natalie Dormer As The "Game Playing" Queen Mother!
Queen of pop Madonna has signed Natalie Dormer to portray Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother in a film about the Edward VIII abdication crisis. ormer appeared naked as Anne Boleyn in the television series The Tudors.
“This country tends to remember the Queen Mother as a rather wrinkly 97 year-old, but I am playing her when she was quite an enchanting, engaging twenty and thirty something,” the Telegraph quoted Dormer as saying.
She added: “She was quite a savage and savvy game player.”

Madonna Going To India!!
Madonna’s coming to India with her children, along with a host of international celebs, for a royal wedding.Shivraj Singh, son of Maharaja Gaj Singh II, will be tying the knot on November 18, with Gayatri Kumari. Informs a source, “The wedding’s at Rambagh Palace in Jaipur. The guest list includes Madonna, Richard Gere, Kate Winslet, Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar, Mick Jagger, and Julia Roberts.”

Madonna Declares Herself True Blue- Wake-Up Video!
Even if you're not a fan of Madonna, you have to allow that the work she did in the 1980s was pretty staggeringly wonderful. 1984's Like a Virgin is a stone cold classic, but the follow-up (True Blue, which came out on this day in 1986) gets short shrift but might actually be the better, more consistent album. Largely inspired by her relationship with then-husband Sean Penn, True Blue finds Madonna exploring a more traditional form of femininity and exploring the practical side of personal relationships, all against a backdrop of rugged dance beats, sugary melodies and a handful of genre-pushing experiments.
True Blue also saw Madonna really find her voice. It's a great and powerful instrument capable of some stunning things, and on tracks like "Open Your Heart" and "Live to Tell," she really lets her pipes go in a way that mirrors the emotional freedom held within the lyrics. In fact, "Open Your Heart" may be the strongest vocal of Madonna's career (at least from a technical standpoint), as her voice sounds clean, powerful and totally under her control.
It wouldn't be a Madonna album without controversy, and for this album it came in the form of "Papa Don't Preach," a tune that deals frankly with the issues of teenage pregnancy and abortion, both bold steps for a pop star (even today). That track got her into hot water with the Vatican, as she dedicated "Papa Don't Preach" to Pope John Paul II after he called for a boycott of some of Madonna's concerts. Like Like a Virgin, True Blue was a tremendous commercial success that topped the charts in 28 different countries and has sold 24 million copies worldwide since its release.
Always looking to tap into new sounds, True Blue's "La Isla Bonita" found Madonna exploring the line between island music and R&B in a song that still holds up today.
Carlos Leon Gives Madonna Fitness Advice!
Trainer Carlos Leon has revealed that his ex Madonna often asks his advice about work-outs.The 43-year-old personal trainer dated the Queen of Pop for three years and they have a daughter Lourdes, 13, together.
Asked whether Madge ever asks his advice about fitness routines, he told UK magazine Grazia: 'All the time. Fitness is one of our conversations. She asks me what the latest work-out is.
'At the moment, it's CrossFit [a strength and conditioning programme], which I follow myself. She looks amazing and there's no doubt about that.”
He added: 'It's so great for our daughter to have this attitude set within her family.'
