Billboard: M's Awesome Oscar Live Performance.

At the ’91 Oscars, Billy Crystal introduced Madonna’s performance of the “Dick Tracy” song “Sooner or Later” as “the NC-17 portion of our really big show.”

Turns out the number wasn’t nearly as risqué as some of Madonna’s other award-show routines, but as usual, she commanded everyone’s attention with a sultry, full-stage romp. Donning a Marilyn Monroe-inspired gown, fur boa, gleaming baubles and bleached-blonde curls, Madonna gave a performance that took us back to the glamorous days of old Hollywood.

Madonna and Demi To Host Oscars After Party.

Forget the ceremony, this is one Academy Awards after-party we’d really love an in
vite to.

Madonna and Demi Moore are set to team up for the second year running, according to reports, to host a glittering post-Oscar bash for all their A-list friends.

It’s thought Madge and Demi will welcome pals to Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary’s luxurious LA pad around 10pm, as the awards draw to a close.

And the A-list guest list reads like a who’s who of Hollywood.

It’s thought hotly-tipped pair Natalie Portman and Colin Firth are both on the attendee list, as well as Justin Timberlake, Nicole Kidman and director David Fincher. Phew.

And that’s not all. Many more stars are expected to flood to the party when their official Oscar duties are over, to celebrate on into the night.

‘Everybody’s on it,’ one insider told Variety of the super-exclusive guest list. ‘It gives the A-list Vanity Fair crowd someplace to go to.

‘It will probably be pared down to where it’s 85-per-cent talent, not a lot of suits.’

The Next Kings Speech?

Could the singer’s Wallis Simpson movie claim the crown? Well, she certainly wooed the suits in Berlin.

The Madonna movie is being offered worldwide by a former Weinstein executive, the Liverpool-born Stuart Ford, who now runs I.M. Global. Ford has been talking up W.E. so much that by the time he does a Q&A session with Madonna before the film he has lost his voice and she, apparently, calls him “Mr. Croaky”.

In a similar situation to that of Madonna’s film, his company sold Tom Ford’s self-financed A Single Man and also worked on the indie hit Paranormal Activity. “I guess Madonna saw us handle Tom Ford for his first film, so she knew we could make this work for her”, Ford said.
Adding to the fascination, the press were banned from the secret screening, so there are no reviews of the film clips. Madonna’s interview, however, was being talked about afterwards in bars such as Soho House Berlin. “She wasn’t at all showy - more nervous, really - and she took it very seriously, consulting her notes,” said one film distributor. “She seemed particularly fascinated by the character of Mrs. Simpson and the sacrifices she made when she became a celebrity.”

The I.M. Global release sells W.E. thus: “Madonna and a world class team of behind-the-camera collaborators present a passionate, classic saga of lovesickness and determination, softness and beauty, with the sweeping perspective of Atonement and the compelling spirit of The King’s Speech.

W.E. is a rich cinematic portrayal of two strong women resolved to find romance and passion.”Of course, romance and the singer’s name alone will not fill a Cineplex, but buyers were so keen on the glossy royal costume drama, a popular theme of the moment, that “they started e-mailing in offers as the lights came up,” Ford said. “We sold it in about 50 territories and deals were still coming in at 3am.” Optimum Releasing bought the film in Britain.

Madonna surrounded herself with experienced filmmakers and spent three years researching, “reading all the books” and said to distributors that she was attracted to the idea of a man giving up so much - indeed a kingdom - for love. The royals, she added, were attractive to people for their curiosity, romance, secrecy and intrigue. And, of course, their clothes. Mrs. Simpson, the original Material Girl, has 82 changes of costume in the film. Madonna, whose chair was facing the crowd of distributors and not the screen, knelt down at the front to watch her sartorial idol in action when the lights went down.

“What the distributors want to know is how they can market the film, so they asked about her promoting it,” said Ford. “They also want to know from that 35-minute presentation: can she direct: And then they look at production values and mood.” Madonna is still editing W.E., but that seemed to give the buyers no qualms whatsoever.

Madonna Denies Sending Support Email to Lady Gaga!

Madonna denies sending support email to Lady Gaga

Orange County’s Equality Project Joel Waddell had some discouraging words to say about Lady Gaga, which he apologized for. His position still stands that Lady Gaga is destructive for the Gay community. However, he is not the only one who has been spewing venom at Lady Gaga the past couple of days.Radio stations, magazines, and television shows have been accusing Lady Gaga of plagiarism, racism and just about everything else.

The latest accusation is that Lady Gaga creates fake emails and passes them off as legit.“Madonna’s management is not aware of any emails sent to Lady Gaga,” CNN’s Headline News Entertainment just reported. On Jay Leno last night, Lady Gaga said that the Queen of Pop had endorsed her with a support email. Could somebody be playing tricks on Lady Gaga? Is this just major damage control?

Madonna About To Record New LP!

Madonna About To Record New LP

It looks like Madonna is preparing to enter the studio to record a new album, the first under her $100 million multi-rights deal with "Live Nation", which another lucrative tour seems likely as well.

"They tell me Madonna is about to record, so there could be another Madonna cycle coming," "Live Nation Entertainment" Chairman Irving Azoff told "Billboard.biz" during an interview earlier this week. Asked if the Madonna album would come through "Live Nation", Azoff responded, "Yes," meaning Madonna's album could be the first recorded content overseen by "Live Nation".

Azoff's news was echoed by Madonna manager Guy Oseary this week via Twitter: "The update is that Madonna can't wait to get into the recording studio. This will happen as soon as she finishes the movie she directed."

Simon Cowell On Madonna!!

"I was guilty of that. She taught me a huge lesson that I have to be more open-minded. I think the American audience know what talent is and I don't think it matters if you're in your 40s, 50s, 30s or 14 years old. If you have it, you have it. You only have to look at Madonna. She's still one of the most influential artists in the world. It doesn't matter how old she is."

She Was Totally "What Do You Want Me To Do"!

She Was Totally "What Do You Want Me To Do?"

Star photographer Regan Cameron talks about his career breakthrough since having worked with Madonna. There are plenty of images to choose from, including one of Madonna and Missy Elliott in the True Blue jeans commercial for Gap sitting in his office. The turning point, the moment when Cameron really knew he'd made it, was when he shot Madonna for "InStyle" magazine in 2001.

Madge liked one of his images so much she used it on her tour posters."To me you couldn't get anyone more famous. The Pope maybe. You lifted up the camera, and suddenly they're in your camera, and it's quite odd."Despite his predictions otherwise, the star let Cameron direct the shoot.

"It was really interesting because I was quite nervous, thinking, 'she's not going to listen to a word I say' but she was totally, 'what do you want me to do?' Obviously that's why she's at the top - she works with people she trusts. A big part of [this job] is working that trust level up as fast as possible, otherwise if they think you're going to make them look like a sack of potatoes, it's not going to work."
