Madonna's period drama "W.E." finally gets its first trailer available online. The fresh video highlights the secret romance between two different couples. Aside from presenting plenty of romantic scenes, the trailer shows a beautiful cinematography by Hagen Bogdanski.
"W.E." tells the story of two love affairs. The first one is a secret romance between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson that led to the British royal abdicating from the throne to marry his divorcee lover. The second, meanwhile, is about a lonely wife in New York, Wally Winthrop, who becomes the secret lover of a Russian security guard.
The film, which marks Madonna's second directorial effort after "Filth and Wisdom" in 2008, was premiered during the 68th Venice Film Festival last September, and is slated to open in limited U.S. theaters on December 9. The movie stars Andrea Riseborough, James D'Arcy, Abbie Cornish, Oscar Isaac, Judy Parfitt, Geoffrey Palmer and James Fox.
