When Madonna received and dissed a hydrangea gift at Venice with sort of two-faced condescension, the caught-on-tape moment became a viral hit.
Today, though, Madonna's rep would like you to know that the singer-director was entirely justified in her flower diss:
"She's entitled to like any flower she wants, and she didn't want to hurt the feeling of the hydrangeas of the world", the rep told "CNN".
"No disrespect to the hydrangeas lovers of the world, but she prefers different types of flowers."
Obviously.
