"Glee" Breaks "Billboard" Record
The cast of pop-culture phenomenon "GLEE" has broken the music record for the most single entries on the "Billboard Hot 100 Chart", claiming the title previously held by the “King of Rock and Roll,” Elvis Presley. Having covered hit tracks by chart-topping artists including Madonna, "GLEE" now holds the record for 113 single entries on the "Billboard Hot 100 Chart".
In the short amount of time since GLEE hit the airwaves, the series has racked up two Platinum and two Gold albums, two Grammy Award nominations, more than 16 million song downloads, the No. 1 soundtrack of 2010 (“The Christmas Album”) and an incredible 19 Emmy and 11 Golden Globe nominations, as well as four Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes, including the award for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical.
The critically acclaimed “Glee Live! In Concert!,” starring 13 members of the television show’s cast, will return to North American concert stages this spring.
