The presence of a legend helped inspire Nicki Minaj in new ways, making her more focused than ever.

"Meeting Madonna changed my life. Working with Madonna changed my life. Rehearsing with Madonna for two weeks changed my life", Minaj professed.

"I saw how much Madonna sacrificed and how much she rehearses and rehearses and rehearses and rehearses, and everyone there was like 'We got it.'. But she was like 'No, I want you to know this choreography in your sleep'."

"This performance was it, and this is the first performance that I'm proud of in my entire career", Minaj said of her "Super Bowl" halftime performance, aside Madonna and M.I.A.

Minaj had some words in regards to M.I.A.'s brash hand gesture during the halftime show, feeling at first "disappointment" beause of "respect for Madonna".

"I'm a cuckoo lady too, but I would never be able to do it off the strength of Madonna. There are fines that go into these things, and I just thought 'Oh my God. I hope they don't penalize Madonna'. Madonna knows the artist that M.I.A. is, and it was her decision to take the risk with all of us. We were kinda all firecrackers, and she took that risk. She's done some crazy things becoming the icon that she is, so, I think that's why she was able to forgive M.I.A.", she said.

"I love M.I.A., and I don't want to say anything that is the wrong thing, but me, personally, I couldn't see myself doing it, just for the respect for Madonna", Minaj admitted.

This week, Martin Solveig gave an inteview to French radio station, Europe1. He talks about his collaboration with Madonna on MDNA, his opinion of her as an icon and an artist, and calls her the “master” while Lady Gaga is her “disciple.”

How did you meet Madonna ?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: With a phone call. I was really impressed. It was her manager. I thought it was a joke, because my team and I prank each other a lot. I actually thought it was my Australian agent pulling a prank me.

Tell us about meeting her for the first time ?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: We actually met on Skype. I was in an airport and everything was planned to go smoothly… but obviously, I had problems with the internet connexion. So, I raised my arm like I was trying to adjust an antenna. I was completely paralyzed. She’s such an icon, a figure of music…I said a lot of nonsense in the first five minutes… I usually don’t get starstruck, but this time, I absolutely was…

How do you call her ?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: Everybody calls her M. She likes it when things go fast.

How did you direct her artistically?
MARTIN SOLVEIG : I learnt from her manager that she liked how I dared to direct her during our first recording session. When you sing and record at the same time, it’s not easy to really to get an idea of the result. That’s my job, this is what I do, I’m a writer and a producer and had to tell her “this take was right, this one wasn’t.”

Do you find her intimidating?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: Very intimidating. She’s a very strong woman and I love that about her. It took me a little time to see her as an artist and not as an icon lingering in her trailer with her Grammy’s and her million record sales…

Were you a fan? What do you think is her legacy to the world of music?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: She has left her landmark in music and fashion in every era. In the 80s, in the 90s. And she has succeeded – what I think Michael Jackson has failed to do – to still be relevant in the 2000s working with Mirwais and Stuart Price. I’m more a fan of those albums than the ones she released when she started. And THAT is impressive to me.

Do you think Lady Gaga took her crown ?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: No. I think she’s a disciple. There’s a master and a disciple. It’s very simple. We all have a role model, don’t we?

What about your single leaking last November…
MARTIN SOLVEIG: Some of her fans are very talented hackers who got into her computer, took her pictures…
I told her about that already. I couldn’t send anything sensitive to her email. It remained the first single because we had two guests M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj. Otherwise, we would have released another single.

Ryan Murphy is hoping to do another Madonna tribute episode on Glee, and this time around he wants Madonna herself to make a guest appearance! Murphy recently dished about his plans during a visit to Bravo’s Watch What Happens After Show. Glee previously tackled Madonna during its first season with the popular episode, “The Power of Madonna.”

"I want to do another Madonna episode, but I want Madonna to be on it,” Murphy told host Andy Cohen. "She says she would do it."

No word on what Madonna songs would be included this time around, however the first Madonna episode featured hits from Madonna’s catalogue including “Ray of Light,” “Express Yourself,” “Borderline/Open Your Heart,” “Frozen,” “Like a Prayer,” “Like a Virgin,” “Justify My Love,” “4 Minutes,” “What it Feels Like For a Girl” and “Vogue.”

"We played with the tightness and looseness of the curls, as well as the amount of volume to see what would work best."

He started by blowing out the pop star’s hair, and then wrapped two-inch sections around a medium-barrel curling iron.

In a word, yes. The game, became the most-watched program in U.S. TV history, drawing an average of 111.3 million, slightly eclipsing last year’s then-record 111 million.
The Super Bowl peaked with 117 million viewers in its final half-hour, while its first half hour (99 million) was its lowest.
Not only that, but Madonna’s now-controversial-thanks-to-M.I.A. halftime show averaged 114 million, which also marks the game’s most-watched halftime show. Last year’s Black-Eyed Peas show averaged 110.3 million.

Madonna is apparently still quite popular. The past sensation out-rated the Super Bowl, as her halftime performance generated a 48.3 rating compared to a 47.8 for the game according to reports from John Ourand.
Despite two very large market teams being involved in the affair, Super Bowl couldn't break its own ratings record which was set just last year by Green Bay and Pittsburgh.
Part of that is undoubtedly the very nice weather that the East has seen this year. With a normally bitter time of year upon us, people are much more likely to stay inside and look forward to the game.
It's truly amazing that Madonna is still as popular as she is. Many people were annoyed that the NFL was bringing in another older superstar to perform the halftime show, but clearly they made the right decision.
This Super Bowl did outdraw the previous match-up between these two teams as the 2007 game did a 43.1 rating.

Madonna’s 12th studio album became available to order for download on iTunes on Friday and immediately shot into the record books by becoming a more-or-less global Number One with most of the tracks still unheard.
This is just the beginning of what seems to be a global takeover in the coming weeks.
Tonight Madonna performs a 12-minute set at half-time during the American Super Bowl football championships in Indianapolis.
The mum of four will perform three classic hits and her new single during the show, which is broadcast to an estimated 200 million people around the world.
With input from global circus brand Cirque du Soleil and her own live show specialist Jamie King, it’s sure to be visually as well as musically stunning.
“I’m so nervous!” she said at a press conference this week.

She Never Left You..

Nearly 30 years into her reign as the greatest gay icon, Madonna is back in a big way with her new film, "W.E.", and her first studio album in four years, reminding us why so many adore her.

Madonna spent a lot of time caring about the bad, but she claims to have moved on.

"I don’t really dwell on it anymore. I used to be kind of fixated on it and think 'It’s not fair, it’s not fair, it’s not fair', but it is what it is, and I just have to get on with my life."

But Madonna’s passion for this topic belies that resolute attitude:

"If you are threatened by me as a female, or you think I’m doing too much or saying too much or being too much of a provocateur, then no matter how great of a song I write, or how amazing of a film I make, you’re not going to allow yourself to enjoy it, because you’re going to be too entrenched in being angry with me, or putting me in my place or punishing me."

Meeting Madonna in person can be a little jarring.

For someone so larger-than-life, she’s surprisingly petite.

Sitting down and launching into conversation, she is disarmingly engaged, and she slouches a bit, like any mere mortal.

But she’s not, of course.

A burly man is guarding the door of the suite at New York’s "Waldorf-Astoria" Hotel, where she has settled in for the afternoon.

And she’s dressed eccentrically — black leather fingerless Chanel gloves cover her hands, silver bracelets of varying shapes run up both forearms (and a red Kabbalah string), and a royal blue asymmetrical shift hugs her taut figure.

In the midst of the "AIDS" crisis, when fear was rampant and gay men were dying at a horrifying rate, Madonna was among the first to take a stand, to say, as she did in the tour documentary "Truth or Dare", that it’s OK to be a gay man, who is openly sexual:

"That it’s OK to be gay, period", Madonna says emphatically before launching into an impassioned recounting of her experience of the "AIDS" onslaught.

"I was extremely affected by it. I remember lying on a bed with a friend of mine, who was a musician, and he had been diagnosed with this kind of cancer, but nobody knew what it was. He was this beautiful man, and I watched him kind of waste away, and then another gay friend, and then another gay friend, and then another gay friend. They were all artists and all truly special and dear to me."

In retrospect, Madonna sees that as the moment, when her sense of self became entangled with that of gay men.

"I saw how people treated them differently", she says.

"I saw the prejudices, and I think, probably I got that confused with, intertwined with, you know, maybe things that…ways that people treated me differently."

Perhaps Madonna wasn’t the only one to "confuse" her personal treatment with that of gay men.

The feeling was mutual.

As she exploded in popularity, Madonna became identified with the collective gay male sense of self.

So, when she moved on, devoting less and less time to her gay compatriots, many felt a twinge of abandonment.

That’s when bitching about Madonna became the great gay pastime.

"I never left them", insists Madonna, echoing a lyric from "Evita".

"When you’re single, you certainly have more time to socialize and hang out with your gay friends, but then, you get married, and you have a husband, and you have children, and your husband wants you to spend time with him. I’m not married anymore, but I have four kids, and I don’t have a lot of time for socializing."

She’s been back in New York for two years, after splitting with Ritchie.

"I hope nobody’s taking that personally. It certainly was not a conscious decision. As it stands, most of my friends in England are gay. But I’m back", she says, adding reassuringly

"Never fear".

NEW YORK -- Very little sneaks past Madonna.

"Details are important to me. The rugs, the lampshades, the jewelry, the one hair out of place. Little things like that drive me bonkers, if they're not just right," says the entertainer and first-time feature film director with a laugh.

Her penchant for perfectionism reveals itself promptly at the start of an interview in a swank Waldorf-Astoria room when symphonic notes begin clamoring out of hidden speakers. They're loud, discordant and distracting. And Madonna, looking around for the source, is miffed.

"We should turn the classical music off. It just came on. I'm sure there's a button somewhere," she says, as she surveys the ornate interior, where no such buttons are apparent. "This is apparently their suite, where they stayed."

The "they" in question are the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, also known as Prince Edward and Wallis Simpson. He was King Edward VIII of England when he fell in love with the married American socialite and ultimately abdicated the throne to be with her. Their odd yet resonant love story is the subject of Madonna's film directorial debut, W.E., in theaters Friday, which tells the parallel sagas of Simpson (Andrea Riseborough) and Wally (Abbie Cornish), a modern-day New Yorker frozen in a rigid marriage and obsessed with the Windsors. The title of the film refers to the couple's initials and their nickname for one another.

W.E. just earned an Oscar nod for costume design, and Madonna won a Golden Globe for best original song in January (much to the public displeasure of Elton John). The film aside, there's a lot of Madonna coming up.

She's performing at Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show. On March 24, her 14th studio album, MDNA, comes out on Interscope Records; the first single, Give Me All Your Luvin', is out on Friday.

"It's fun. It sounds different. It was nice to get away from the film and do something visceral and write songs and play the guitar," she says of the new release.

Expectations are high for MDNA, says Keith Caulfield, associate charts director at Billboard, and it's getting the most high-profile promotional platform on Sunday.

"She's headlining the Super Bowl halftime show. She has mass appeal," he says. "I suspect it's going to do well, but how well is still up in the air."

Between prepping for the show, promoting her film and working on her music, Madonna, 53, is raising her four kids, high school drama major Lourdes, 15, Rocco, 11, David and Mercy, both 5, in New York City. "A lot is happening. It wasn't planned that way but it turned out that way," she sums up.

In person, Madonna is crisp, thorough and businesslike, immaculately attired in a draped blue dress accessorized with fingerless leather Chanel gloves. There's no repartee. No pervasive need to be liked and no pretense of faux friendship. Just succinct, exacting answers, with tiny flashes of humor. On one of the things she has in common with Wallis Simpson: "She liked nice clothes, and I can relate to that."

Madonna the director sounds a lot like Madonna the person. "She is passionate, utterly prepared, tenacious, pragmatic, inspiring," says Riseborough. "Working with her was a wonderfully fulfilling experience."

That's because W.E. is truly Madonna's labor of love. She began researching the British royals when she lived in England with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie. She felt like an outsider in London, missing the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, for example, and she immersed herself in history to learn more about her new home. She started with Henry VIII and his six misbegotten wives, and read on through Wallis and Edward, whose story captivated her because of "the idea that someone in this very powerful position would give up the throne for love. I don't think that that happened very often, certainly not in the monarchies of England. I was very intrigued by that," she says.

And she had a clear vision for the two worlds she wanted to present onscreen.

"The great thing about Madonna is that she invites people to collaborate with her. She's not a micro-manager. She's very clear about direction but she's a true collaborator," says W.E. costume designer Arianne Phillips, who has known and worked with Madonna for 15 years. "She raises the bar because she has an aesthetic language that is uncompromised. We were creating this rarefied world of the duke and duchess, as well as the world of Park Avenue and Sotheby's and society New York. She knows those worlds."

Madonna immersed herself in Wallis Simpson's story, studying her mannerisms, style and diction with her typical attention to detail. In the film, Simpson emerges as a pragmatic, tragic figure, largely a victim of circumstance.

"When I first read about her, I thought she was clever and witty, and quite ambitious and calculating. And when I started to investigate and read, she seemed sort of like a trapped animal in many respects, quite fragile, in a lot of pain. She made the best of all her situations. She's been grossly misunderstood," she says.

Madonna had no intention of ever appearing onscreen, quipping that she looks nothing like Simpson. Films have beckoned to Madonna for years. Her forays into acting have been a mixed bag: duds like Swept Away and The Next Best Thing, as well as a charming turn in A League of Their Own and her Golden Globe-winning performance as Eva Peron in 1996's Evita. Since its debut in Venice last year, W.E. has divided critics and earned some unkind feedback, none of which Madonna says she's seen.

"I haven't read any of the reviews, so I don't know the nature of what people are saying specifically. I think yes, I'm gauged with a different measuring stick than an anonymous person would be. That goes with the territory," says Madonna. "The subject matter touches a nerve with people. I deal with relationships and I investigate the inner life of a woman, which isn't really dealt with in film very often."

Madonna co-wrote the screenplay, spending two years refining it. She connected to the dual stories of the protagonists, plus the cult of celebrity that surrounded Simpson.

"I see elements of myself in both of them. The girl who's dreaming about what it must feel like to be loved like that and having a bit of a naïve point of view," she says. "And then there's the Wallis Simpson character, who's dealt a series of challenging blows and has to deal with life and get on with it. She's quite practical about it. She says what she means and she means what she says and I can relate to that, for sure."

Given Madonna's romantic past, which includes marriages to Sean Penn and Ritchie, and relationships with Alex Rodriguez and her current one with a younger man, dancer Brahim Zaibat, what does Madonna think of the concept of all-encompassing love? Is it out there or a creation of Hollywood's romance machine?

"I think true love is really unconditional love. It's something one has to work towards. You have to come to an understanding that nobody's perfect. You have to learn to live with people's imperfections. You have to learn the art of negotiation. True love, it exists, but it doesn't exist in that fairy tale way," she says.

Madonna's life, she'll tell you, isn't quite as mythical and fabulous as you'd think. Because she's a single parent, Madonna says she's tough and often the bad cop with her kids. She works, a lot. Goes to the Kabbalah Centre. On rare mornings when she's feeling particularly self-indulgent, she'll hit the sack for a bit after her kids are out the door. On the weekends, she rides her horses in Long Island. And when she really wants to focus on her family, she puts away her BlackBerry, which is presently sitting on the table across from her.

"I have an office in my house, so I'm in my house and around my kids as much as possible. My work process is non-stop all day long," she says. "When I wake up in the morning, after the kids go to school, if I don't go back to sleep, I go to my office. I'm working until I have to leave. When I come back, I have dinner with my kids and put them to bed and then go back to my office."

Could Madonna imagine ever riding off into the proverbial sunset?

The question elicits an enigmatic smile.

"I fantasize about it, yeah. But I've never done it. Even if I say I'm going to take the day off, there's something hanging over me. I try to make periods of time for myself where I'm really not working and being with my family," she says. "And I fantasize when I pass my bed in the middle of the day and the sun is streaming through the window — I wonder what it would be like to lay on my bed in the middle of the day and watch a film and not feel any pressure."

Madonna grins, fleetingly. "I think I'll try it one day. I think I might like it."

"Miramax", who struck a deal with "Lionsgate" and "StudioCanal" to distribute over 550 titles from their library on DVD and Blu-ray, including Madonna’s 1991 "Truth or Dare", plan to release a special edition Blu-Ray on April 3rd 2012.

All the footage has been remastered, and the Blu-Ray should also contain some extra footage.

Madonna Talks About Her Divorce From Guy Ritchie

Madonna opens up about her new film, "W.E." and her 2008 divorce from filmmaker Guy Ritchie in this week's "Newsweek", on newsstands now.

The film - which chronicles an unhappily married woman's obsession with historical couple King Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson - is the first major work the 53-year-old has released since she and Ritchie split.

The singer told the magazine it wasn't a mere coincidence, that she started writing the screenplay for "W.E.", which deals with the hardships and regrets of marriage, 10 years into her own relationship.

"I was certainly asking a kind of existential question that, I think, people ask when they've been married that long: what is the perfect love?", she explained to "Newsweek".

"Because when you start off, everything's great and lovely, and the person you've married is flawless, and you're flawless."

But as time passed, the singer said she began to notice "cracks in the veneer" of her marriage.

She told "Newsweek" that the gradual realization made her ask herself "'How much am I willing to sacrifice?'".

It's not the first time the singer has spoken out about her failed union.

In August 2009, Madonna told "Rolling Stone" that she was thankful to have been able to concentrate on her work during her "challenging" marriage.

Otherwise, she told the magazine, she "may have thrown [herself] off a building".

Madonna and Ritchie share custody of their two sons, Rocco, 11, and six-year-old David Banda, whom the couple adopted from Malawi.

Madonna also has two other children, 15-year-old Lourdes and five-year-old adopted daughter Mercy James.

DEADLINE: W.E. won best song at the Globes, but critics have been harsh. Your relationship with Madonna goes back to Truth Or Dare. What did you see in the film when you acquired it at Cannes?

WEINSTEIN: Of all the movies this year that have gotten a bad shake from the critics this is the one. And I think it’s Madonna. I think they see the personality behind the film. You have extraordinary performances in the movie. There’s nobody can say Andrea Riseborough isn’t absolutely brilliant and one of our emerging great actresses. And the rest of the cast is great. The setting, the lighting, the costumes, all of which is Madonna’s vision. And the music, the ballsiness to put The Sex Pistols into a period piece. I wanted to take the adventure with her. She did a damn good job and she’s getting a bad shake from people. The great thing about sending out the DVDs is, you get audience reaction, unfiltered and with no critics in front of the movie. People call me all the time and go, wow, I really enjoyed it. So, if it wasn’t Madonna, if it was Joe Smith this movie would be getting three stars and about the director we would be saying wow, this is a talent to watch and a movie you should see. Of course, Madonna’s line is, I don’t want to be Joe Smith.

Sources say that Stuart Price (producer of Madonna's "Confessions on a Dance Floor") and William Orbit did some remixes of classic Madonna tunes for her upcoming performance at the "Super Bowl" in Indianapolis next Sunday February 5th, 2012, and it is said that both remixes will be mashed up, just as Madonna did back in the days with "La Isla Bonita" and "Hung Up" during her 2007 "Live Earth" performance.

"Give Me All Your Luvin'" will be bridged to "Hung Up" by a guitar solo.

The original mash-up had more songs than those, which are currently being tested.

Madonna's best preparation for the demands of directing a movie may have been her ambitious, visually driven live shows, and she'll spend the latter half of 2012 on a global tour on behalf of "MDNA."

"When you're putting a show together, you're dealing with so many elements", she said.

"You're creating a stage and working with lights and costumes and dancers, who, you could say, are the actors. You're paying attention to the minutiae, and you're also stepping back and looking at the bigger picture. I always like to tell stories in my show and have some kind of an arc. At the "Super Bowl" in Indianapolis on Feb. 5th, 2012, Madonna will have the unusual experience of surrendering much of the control she treasures, if not creatively, at least logistically, to the "National Football League" and "NBC".

That means staging a memorable performance within the rigid timing and space constraints of a football game and without any "Federal Communications Commission"-inciting offenses like the infamous wardrobe malfunction, that accompanied Janet Jackson's 2004 show.

"I have 12 minutes and 40 seconds to do something extravagant and exciting in the middle of something that's quite sacred to all of America", she said.

"No one's asked me to tone down my moves. They were curious about my costumes and the costumes of the dancers.... They were very clear with us up front, that they don't want nipples or anything like that, and I didn't have any intention of doing that, so, I was like 'OK, we're cool'. I'm more nervous about this than most things I've done, simply because...it's not how I'm used to working. I'm a perfectionist. I like everything to be done just so, and I like to run things and run things and run things, until people can do it with their eyes closed."

Her high-stakes Indianapolis performance will serve as the launch for "Gimme All Your Lovin", the first single off "MDNA".

She's brought back one of her favorite collaborators for the album, producer William Orbit, and also French DJ Martin Solveig, and is working with new faces — the female rappers M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj.

One song on the album, "Beautiful Killer", is a tribute to French film star Alain Delon.

"I've seen every movie Alain Delon's ever made", Madonna said.

"He's so charismatic."

Though she is years past the typical pop star's peak age, Madonna hasn't shown signs of slowing creatively — the long wait for this album is due to the time she spent shooting the movie.

"Hard Candy", her last album in a 25-year relationship with "Warner Bros.", debuted at No.1 in 37 countries in 2008, including the U.S.

"I feel like all the records on the radio right now have a homogenized quality to them", she said in "The Times" interview.

"I've made a huge effort to try and not sound like everybody else. The music that I've done with William is quite introspective, whereas Martin's is more ironic and funny and upbeat. There's a really up aspect to it and a really fun aspect to it."

Besides directing, which she said she'd like to do again, her list of interests is varied — she and business partner Guy Oseary are working on a dance channel for "YouTube" and have backed a chain of gyms.

Madonna, who is the mother of four, also has launched a clothing line for teenagers called "Material Girl" with her 15-year-old daughter, Lourdes.

"Sometimes, Lourdes will do certain things or say certain things, and I'll feel like I'm looking in a mirror", Madonna said.

"I'll get really irritated with her, and then I'll stop and think 'But that's what I used to do. Or that's what I do'. If I complain to my friends and say 'Oh, she's so strong willed' or 'She's so opinionated', they look at me and go 'Well, what did you expect?'."

Queen of Pop tells MTV News most of her upcoming album is more 'high-energy' than award-winning 'Masterpiece.'

Madonna has teased fans not only inadvertently with a leaked demo of her first single for "Gimme All Your Luvin," but also with "Masterpiece" (which also appears on the soundtrack for her film, "W.E."). So far it seems that the two very different tracks show the two very different sides that the Queen of Pop is pursuing on her next studio release, M.D.N.A.

While "Gimme" plays up Madge's playful, upbeat persona, "Masterpiece," as she explained to MTV News, is a different story. " 'Masterpiece' is one of the few kind of more down-tempo songs, more reflective," she told MTV News at the New York City premiere of "W.E."

"I think the majority of the record is more action-packed," she teased. "More high-energy." It seems, then, that what fans have heard of "Gimme" is more of what they will hear on the album.

The album will reportedly get a March release date. It features production from Martin Solveig on its lead single, which gets some presumably sassy assists from two fierce female MCs, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Both ladies will reportedly take the stage with the pop icon to perform the track at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Madonna also worked with longtime collaborator and Ray Of Light producer William Orbit, who produced the Golden Globe-winning "Masterpiece." "We've worked on stuff for so many years that we kind of finish each other's sentences. He knows my taste and what I like," she explained at the premiere. "Magic happens when we get into a recording studio together."

At the Globes, Madonna recalled how "Masterpiece" came together. "[My manager Guy Oseary] harangued me for the entire time I was filming and editing my movie to write a song," she said during her acceptance speech for Best Original Song. "And I said, 'Please, Guy, I'm trying to focus on being a director and I want people to pay attention to the film and I don't have time.' So then I finished the film and I started making my record and somehow magically and miraculously the song emerged, 'Masterpiece,' so thank you, Guy Oseary, for being so irritating."

You have a new album coming out in a few months. Because you were simultaneously working on this film, were you thinking about love and romance when you made the album?
Yes, but it’s also kind of cheeky and ironic. I am dealing with a lot of issues of romance, forgiveness, redemption, revenge, betrayal. The song I wrote for the film [which will run with the closing credits], “Masterpiece,” is really a very romantic song. So it runs the gamut of every emotion you can imagine: girls gone wild, having a sense of abandonment, having fun, getting in your car and turning up the radio so loud you can’t hear anything, escapism.

There’s a song “Gimme All Your Luvin’” that leaked on the Internet. How did you feel about that?
What leaked was an early demo without [Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.] on it. It’s happened before, but it never happened so quickly. Now, it doesn’t take much. It’s really disappointing because you don’t want things to come out till you’re done with them, till you’re ready. It’s like everybody looking at your unfinished painting. It’s like, “Wait a minute. I didn’t finish that. That’s not fair.”

What made you want to work with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.?
I like their music and I like what they represent. They are strong, independent girls with a unique voice.

The 53-year-old superstar is gearing up to release her latest musical offering, "M.D.N.A.".

Madonna worked with producer William Orbit on a number of tracks on the upcoming album, including her "Golden Globe Award"-winning song "Masterpiece".

The songstress has complete faith in collaborating with William:

"Magic happens when we get into a recording studio together", she told "MTV News".

Madonna loves working with William, because the process happens so naturally.

The American singer says their collaborations are always so smooth, because they understand each other:

"With William, I didn't really have a discussion", she explained.

"We've worked on stuff for so many years that we kind of finish each other's sentences. He knows my taste and what I like."

The relationship between Madonna and William is a long-standing one.

The star produced most of the tracks on Madonna's "Ray of Light" record.

The album, which was released in 1998 - won several "Grammy Awards" and "Video Music Awards".

If "W.E." is a flop, it won’t be for lack of promotional effort from Madonna:

The director premiered her film yet again with a starry screening at the massive "Ziegfeld Theater" on Monday evening — following a string of earlier premieres in Venice, Toronto, London and an event in December in New York.

Madonna choked up and was close to tears, while thanking her deceased mother and film editors on the project, during an address to the packed audience, including "W.E." cast members Andrea Riseborough, James D’Arcy and Oscar Isaac.

"I’m really tired from working my ass off for the 'Super Bowl'. Anybody, who knows me, knows that, when I’m tired, I cry. So, if I cry, please don’t hold it against me. I’m really not a sentimental kind of person", said Madonna, wearing a dramatic black "Marchesa" gown.

"I never get sick of watching the movie, because you're in it", she enthused of her cast, before settling into her seat to watch the flick, centered on the romance between the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

"I’ve known Madonna since she was 19. She was barely famous", recalled Diane von Furstenberg, on line for popcorn.

"She came to a party that I was giving. She had a big hat, and nobody talked to her, except my mother."

Following the premiere, sponsored by the "Cinema Society" and "Forevermark Diamonds", Madonna partied late into the night — despite her fatigue — at the "Top of the Standard", followed by an even more exclusive dance party at "Le Bain".

Ditching the "Marchesa" for a casual look, Madonna shimmied enthusiastically on the glimmering dance floor with her backup dancers.

A small conga line of friends interrupted her chest pops.

Towards the end of the night, a young assistant’s birthday was celebrated with a cake and sparklers, while Madonna led the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday".

"People think of me as a singer and performer, and maybe it seems unusual to choose to make a film. But it’s important to note that I think of myself as a storyteller", said Madonna.

"When I write songs, I tell stories. When I put on shows and perform on stage, I'm telling a story. And with this film I told a story."

The organizers of this year's San Remo Festival confirmed that the rumors about Madonna to take part in it are true (I wrote about it last year).

In a video conference to present the next edition of the festival, Gianni Morandi and Gianmarco Mazzi said they are currently in negotiations to bring Madonna to the famos Italian music festival.

This event is considered to be one of the most important in the world, being held regularly since 1951.

The event will take place next February.
