Madonna's new album may get some Nervo.

"I actually have some enormous news for you. Weve just started telling people. Madonna has expressed a great interest in recording one of our songs and William Orbit wants to produce it. Thats like wow, we honestly are so lucky. We couldnt be more excited. Its not 100% confirmed but she has expressed an interest."

Australian sisters Mim and Liv aka Nervo - who wrote dance-pop hits for David Guetta, Kylie Minogue and more, telling music blogger Jon Aliaga how the Queen of pop herself has expressed interest in recording one of their songs for her new album.

Louie Spence: “They mentioned the word Madonna and that’s how I got involved!”

Louie Spence, 42-year-old dance expert, choreographer and television personality who is currently the artistic director at the London Pineapple Dance Studios, gave an interview to lifestyle magazine Female First and talked about helping the unstoppable Madonna, find her next tour backing dancer.

He was at the London Pineapple Dance Studios, where the London auditions for the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange were being held, to bestow his dancing knowledge and give tips to the budding dancers who came through the door, in hope of becoming Madonna’s new backing dancer.

Here’s what he had to say…

They mentioned the word Madonna. And that’s how I got involved! If like its Madonna, yes I’m there!
All they have to do is upload a 60 second video to the Smirnoff.com website and then they get viewed by Madonna and her chorographer from this tour, they’ve got to be 21 though.

Then once they’ve whittled it down, it ends up there is just going to be 10 people from all over the world. Once those 10 finalists are sorted, they get a chance to go to New York, to Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project. It’s a one-night event and on that night the person will be chosen who is going to be one of Madonna’s backing dancers.
Actually I’m going to upload my own 60 seconds, I’ve decided. I’m not going to miss this chance. (laughs)

The thing is you see, its 10 semi-finalist from all over the world, so from all over world there are just 10 people. So I’m just hoping that with my expertise, that we’re going to get the right people to upload their videos so they get chosen, so we get more than one British dancer.

This is our big day in London and the kids are coming in and are doing their piece. I will just say to them: I’ve seen five other people just come in and do this, what else can you do? So I’m giving them that opportunity before they upload and maybe look the same.

And also just to inspire them and give them the encouragement they need and just give them my expertise and experience and make them understand that this is an opportunity of a lifetime.

And these 60 seconds could be the most important 60 seconds of their lives. I’m here for inspiration and encouragement.

There has been a couple today which have been pretty spectacular. I think the thing with Madonna is that she normally has a theme and her dancers are not just like good looking, nice body, she has a lot of diversity within her dancers.

So I’ve seen a couple of guys here what have been really quite unique and individual which I think stand a good chance, so I’ve put a tick by their box.

I met Madonna in 1998 at Madison Square Garden’s, it was when I was doing the Spice Girls tour and she had come to see the Spice Girls and I fortunately got to meet her. And she was amazing, just a real presence, I mean tiny, but then so am I!

I have seen her recently at the studio because she comes in here if her daughter does class, so she’ll pick her up or she’ll come and watch her.

Although no one recognises her, she doesn’t make a big deal of it. We know at reception when she’s come in. I have seen her but we don’t go into full-on conversation like: How’s your macrobiotic diet darling?

So what does a dancer need to be able to win this competition?

Confidence, uniqueness and style. Because if you’re auditioning from all over the world and you’re going to be one of maybe maximum 20 dancers, you’ve got to have that special something.

So what would you do if Madonna asked you to be her backing dancer?

Between you and I darling I’m turning 43 in April and although I’m still in good shape and I’ve got a good doctor, who gives me good Botox to keep me looking fresh. I’ve had my day. I’ve done my tours.
This is an opportunity for the younger dancers and I’m just here to try give them a bit of guidance and to encourage them. Making sure they do the best they can and make sure they upload the best 60 seconds they can, so that they get an opportunity of a lifetime. But like I said I might be uploading 60 seconds myself.
My sisters went dancing and I followed what they did, everything they did I did. They went dancing, I went dancing and I just continued dancing.

What career path would you have gone down if you didn’t become a dancer?

There is nothing I would have chosen, I would never have not been a dancer it’s just not a question that would have ever happened. I was born to dance. Once I started that was it. I never stopped.

I think that you can never stop learning, but now unfortunately I’m going to be 43 in April.
When you dance it’s an expression of your life and who you are and I think I’m secure with who I am, so I don’t think there is any more growth to come in my dancing. Maybe in my height will be nice darling, but not in my dancing.

And finally Louie sheds some pearls of wisdom for all you aspiring dancers out there…

Dedication, you have to be dedicated because it’s a hard hard life and you’ll have more rejection than you will acceptances, so you just need to harden up and be dedicated. And if you love what you do than nothing will stop you.

Louie Spence has teamed up with the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project who are searching for Madonna’s next back up dancer.
Anyone over 21 can enter by uploading a 1 minute audition video to www.smirnoff.com by 10th October

Madonna Album Update!

Insiders See New Album As A Milestone For Madonna

Chicago reps for "Universal Music Group" claim Madonna is set to release her new album next spring.

There is no album title yet, but one of the album’s strongest tracks is said to be a song called "Trust,", which was either co-written or co-produced with Sia.

It is said to be like "Live to Tell", but ten times better.

Jim Steinman, one of the producers originally set for the album, is no longer on board.

Instead, William Orbit and Jean Baptiste Kouame are producing a lion’s share of the album.

Madonna is also very involved, and is writing and producing some tracks all by herself.

Industry insiders see this album as a milestone for Madonna in the same degree "Like a Prayer" and "Ray of Light" were.

Madonna’s 2012 tour is being planned as we speak, and it will be different from previous tours.

Jamie King, Madonna’s long-time tour collaborator, will no longer be involved.

Liza Minelli: "Madonna Is The Opposite Of Grand!"

As for Madonna ..."I think she’s terrific. When I’m chatting to her, she’s just normal, the opposite of grand. We’ll meet in a restaurant with friends. Or hang out at a party. She’s always interesting and interested. She’s smart as hell and keeps her eyes peeled. She misses nothing."

She adds:

"Madonna has realised the value of shock. But why not? You need to do anything you can in this business to get noticed. And she's done it brilliantly."

"In a way, I started that with the Sally Bowles look, the cropped black hair, the lashes. It was a look that became important. It went round the world."

Madonna At The K Center Today In NYC!

Liberty Ross Talks About Her Role In Madonna's W.E.!

LIBERTY ROSS' film debut sees her appear in Madonna's new film, W.E, and according to the model herself - the singer couldn't have been more inspiring.
"She has such a strong vision," Ross told us. "Her whole career has been about looks and drive. As a director she was just brilliant. She knew exactly what she wanted. There are so many things to be decided when you're directing something - I'd be hopeless, there are so many choices. She worked incredibly hard."
Set in the Thirties, the film focuses on Edward VIII's abdication and affair with Wallis Simpson, and also stars Andrea Riseborough, Abbie Cornish and James D'Archy. Ross plays the sister of one of the King's mistresses.
"This film was the first audition I went up for," explained Ross. "My manager in LA put me forward for it, and I sent a tape of myself over to Madonna - and she was thrilled. I flew over to meet her and got the role. It was amazing. I was so excited because of the period it was set, both my grannies were from the Thirties, so I've always been very intrigued and inspired by that time. I loved seeing how it was for them."
Ross is currently working on two new films, a new version of Snow White with Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron, and a short film directed by Sam Taylor-Wood.
"Acting has always been something I've wanted to get into," Ross said. "I think the best models are actors, you're taking on a character. In that sense, I have been acting for a long time. It didn't seem like a crazy transition. Acting is a bigger step into modelling in a way. Modelling is easier when you don't look like yourself. When you look like a different person, you feel different. Acting goes deeper into that, you have to move and talk like that character. I love it."
The two-time Vogue cover girl says her new foray into film doesn't signify the end of her modelling career.
"A combination of the two would be great," she said. "I don't think I have to pick one or the other - they're not two completely different jobs. I just want to make sure I make the most of any opportunity that comes my way."

Thanks Sylvia!

Madonna is not ashamed in Washington D.C.

Four Andy Warhol and Keith Haring's Madonna artworks from 1985 - including their iconic "I'm Not Ashamed" - will be on display at the The National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. from Sunday, September 25 as part of "Warhol: Headlines", the first exhibition to fully examine the works that Andy Warhol created on the theme of news headlines.

Running from from September 25, 2011, to January 2, 2012. Warhol: Headlines will define and present some 80 works - paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture, film, video, and television - based largely on the tabloid news, revealing the artist's career-long obsession with the sensational side of contemporary media.

Source materials for the art will be presented for comparison, demonstrating the ways in which Warhol cropped, altered, obscured, and reoriented the original texts and images, underscoring his role as both editor and author.

After Washington, the exhibition will be on view at the Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt, Germany (February 11May 13, 2012); Galleria nazionale d'arte moderna, Rome, Italy (June 11September 9, 2012); and The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, USA (October 14, 2012January 6, 2013).

Music Album Interview (Conexion MTV Latin 2000)!

Happy Anniversary Music Album!!

Mel C gets It Right On Madonna and Lady Goober!

Singer and former Spice Girl Mel C picks her most inspiring singers - and Madonna is included in her top ten:
I go way back with Madonna. I remember being embarrassed by the lyrics to Like A Virgin as a child, but I was secretly blown away. She’s the artist who made me want to be a pop star, and as a kid I learnt all the songs and routines. She’s a performer who really pushed the boundaries.
People compare Lady Gaga to Madonna, but while I have a lot of respect for Lady Gaga, Madonna did all the groundwork for artists like her. She’s completely in control of her career, has an amazing work ethic and pays real attention to every aspect of her image.
Her videos have always been spectacular; her shows are massive events. I’ve seen her several times – the first was The Girlie Show in 1993. That was a really breathtaking show. If I had to pick one of her albums it would be Ray Of Light.

Madonna soaks up with writing-directing energy, captures 'W.E.' drama.

TORONTO, CANADA – The Material Girl has arrived!

That was the big news at the 36th annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) here at Toronto, Ontario, Canada when iconic pop queen, Madonna, arrived to promote her new film, “W.E.,” the drama about the controversial romance between American divorcee Wallis Simpson (the “W,” portrayed by Andrea Riseborough) and Britain's King Edward VIII (the “E,” portrayed by James D’Arcy), which led him to give up the throne.

The film also tells the story of a contemporary woman named Wally (Abbie Cornish of “Sucker Punch”) and her obsession with the midcentury British romance.

Madonna, who arrived at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel wearing a red blouse and a black pencil skirt with black heels all by Yves Saint Laurent and a special W.E. necklace designed by jeweler Neil Lane, also co-wrote “W.E.” with her “Truth or Dare” collaborator Alek Keshishian.

Looking very Marilyn Monroe-ish with her shoulder-length blonde hair in cascading curls, Madonna was a vision of confidence. Her sharp sense of humor and her distinctive intelligence were on display as she answered our questions honestly, humorously and intelligently.

Despite three burly bodyguards watching over her and a doting entourage that was quick to touch up her hair and make-up before the pictorial, Madonna showcased her independent thinking as she handled herself like a true-blooded pop royalty.

We told her that we know her as a performer and now as a director. But how is she as a writer? What is her writing process, we asked.

“Well, I like to write by myself for periods of time collecting ideas, writing things down,” the 53-year-old Madonna revealed. “I like to write in longhand because I also like the visceral feeling of writing with a real ink pen and then like to get together with, say, Alek Keshishian in this circumstance and collaborate and bounce ideas off of each other and come up with stuff. Then we have a 20-minute break where we’re completely behaving like children and having fun. Then we go back to work.

“I don’t really have any one specific process. I like to do a lot of research first, gather up all my facts, meet people, watch things, read things and then sit by myself for a while. I like to put myself in an environment that I have created for writing in the circumstance of this film. I found an empty room in my house and I wallpapered the walls with pictures from the auction catalogue and photographs that I had Xeroxed of the Duke and the Duchess from the time they were children up until the time right before they both died so that I was sitting in a room that was completely and utterly inundated with their images so I could soak up their energy.”

As for being a director, Madonna disclosed, “It does seem like I made a big leap from being a singer-performer-entertainer to making films. It is a completely different discipline but when I do my shows, I am completely and utterly involved in the minutiae of every aspect of the show. I am already a detail-oriented person and I would like to think of myself as a visionary.

“As a filmmaker, I spent a lot of time with my cinematographer Hagen Bodanski before we started shooting. I would show him a lot of movies and I’d say what kind of lens was that – steadicam, handheld. We talked about various film stocks as we went along and I would make notes. I was a student in every way you can imagine. Then when we were shooting the film, I spent a lot of time with the focus puller who gave me lens lessons. He would tell me what lens would be most flattering for a close-up, what I need to do if I want to bring the foreground closer and shoot through a crowd. So I was just lapping up as much information as I could from my incredibly experienced and talented crew as I went along. I was glad they were generous with me. Thank goodness!”

Even the handsome and charming Antonio Banderas, whom we interviewed for his latest Pedro Almodovar-helmed movie, “The Skin I Live In,” couldn’t hide his excitement when we told him that Madonna was in town and we were going to talk to her in an hour.

“Oh my God!” he exclaimed cupping his face with both his hands in disbelief. “Tell her I said hello!” he added excitedly after confessing that he had been “thinking of you for the past 20 years.”

When we told her of Antonio Banderas and his excitement to meet her, she said, “Oh yes, I mentioned when I was doing ‘Truth or Dare?’ that I was dying to meet him, yeah. I used to have a terrible crush on him. It’s true! But I think he is taken.”

• • •

Antonio, on the other hand, who is reunited with director Pedro Almodovar after 21 years in his new film, “The Skin I Live In,” is excited to talk about working again with his idol.

The movie, based on Thierry Jonquel’s novel “Tarantula,” is about a surgeon, Robert Ledgard (Antonio) who tries to get back to his daughter’s rapist, Vincent (Jan Cornet), by transforming him into a woman, Vera (Elena Anaya), and keeps her captive with the help of his servant Marilia (Marisa Paredes).

“It was in the Cannes Film Festival in 2002 that Pedro approached me with the idea,” he narrated. “He just read the novel, ‘Tarantula.’ And he said, ‘I think that we have a story here that it can put us together again after so many years.’ But it took him eight years by the time that he called me. Then he suddenly called me. I was coming out of a workshop in New York that I was doing for Zorba. And he said, literally, without even saying hello. He just said, ‘It’s about time.’ I asked, ‘Do you have a script already?’ He says, ‘Yes. Where are you?’ ‘I am in New York,’ I said. And he replied, ‘You will have it in a couple of days.’

“Pedro Almodovar is not an easy director. He’s very demanding. He is very precise. And he doesn’t like actors who are coming with a suitcase filled with tricks of everything that you have been accumulating during the years as a professional. So he took this suitcase that I brought and literally threw it out of the window. And said, ‘We have to start from zero.’”

So how does he maintain his good looks, we asked the tanned, shaved and slim 51-year-old actor.

“I do yoga,” he said. “I eat well. I try to be in harmony with my life. I don’t have too many anxiousness to get anywhere, anymore. I am at this particular moment in my life content. I am very satisfied with the work that I am presenting in this fall time and very especially with this one. When you are content with the things that you are doing, it just helps you to feel and look good.”

Madonna Drinks "Kopi Luwak" Only!

Two amateur coffee drinkers take a trip to Chikmagalur, the birthplace of Indian coffee, and return as connoisseurs of the "cuppa".

The Chikmagalur cuppa:

We are purists now; well almost, after our recent trip to Chikmagalur, the birthplace of Indian coffee(incidentally, it is said to grow the finest shade-grown coffee in the world).

"K Venkatesh", a coffee quality specialist at the "Coffee Board" in Chikmagalur, enlightened us, waxing eloquent about the different stages that go into preparing the perfect cup of coffee (There is an interesting "Coffee Museum" on the premises as well).

Of course, there is no such thing as the perfect cup, and even if there was, it would differ from palate to palate.

Singer Madonna, for instance, drinks "Kopi Luwak" only, the most expensive coffee in the world.

It is a brew made from beans that have passed through the digestive tract of the civet cat and picked up exotic enzymes on its journey through the feline's gut.

If you're interested in coffee, and not only in feces, read the rest of the entry at www.mumbaimirror.com/article/82/201109182011091802270410436de1faa/Bean-there-done-that-.html

---

According to "Wikipedia", "Kopi Luwak" is produced as follows:

"'Kopi Luwak', also known as 'caphe cut chon' (fox-dung coffee) in Vietnam and 'kape alamid' in the Philippines, is coffee that is prepared using coffee cherries that have been eaten and partially digested by the Asian Palm Civet, then harvested from its fecal matter. The civets digest the flesh of the coffee cherries, but pass the beans inside, leaving their stomach enzymes to go to work on the beans, which adds to the coffee's prized aroma and flavor. Only around 1,000 pounds (450 kg) of civet coffee make it to the market each year, and 1 pound (0.45 kg) can cost up to $600 in some parts of the world and about $100 a cup in others.
