Madonna To Direct "Zoom"?

Madonna, who is working on a new album, is said to be very happy. Her next movie, which doesn’t have a title, is said to be a story based on the 1970s television show ZOOM and the tribulations of young stars dealing with the death of their beloved music director after a tragic car accident.

Madonna's New Motion Picture "W.E" - Test Screenings Earn Very Positive Feedback

Harvey Weinstein has been in Chicago over the past couple weeks (as well as New York City and Los Angeles) for test screeings of Madonna's self-directed new film "W.E", a two-tiered love story that deals with the relationship between King Edward VIII (James D'Arcy) and Wallis Simpson (Andrea Riseborough).

The test screenings earned very positive feedback, and Madonna's film is now ready to make its festival rounds.

The "Daily Mail", a notorious British tabloid, tried to destroy the film last month by saying its original test screening results went wrong.

However, it was soon revealed that the source of the bad test screening was an anonymous poster on a Gay sex site called "Data Lounge".

"The 'Daily Mail' article was laughable from the start", a source from "Movie Data Marketing" says.

"85 percent of the audience surveyed after the first test screening either said the film was "excellent", "very good", or "good". Those results are amazing for a first test screening."

"W.E" did undergo some editing over the past month, and the test screening results for all cities are even better than the results for the original test screening.

Madonna's "Hung Up" Wins "Idolator" Readers' Poll

On July 4th, Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary got the "Material Girl"’s fans voguing by announcing on "Twitter":

"It’s official.. Madonna’s 1st day in the recording studio for the new album."

That, coupled with "Rolling Stone"’s recent scandalous de-throning of The Queen Of Pop (relax — all was made right by "RS" readers, who reinstated her to her royal position), caused us to ponder some of Madge’s memorable lead singles off past LPs.

We listed seven of them in a poll two weeks ago. Below are the results of what you chose as your favorite among those singles.

First, we’ll note that Madonna has released 11 studio albums so far, that span from her 1983 self-titled debut to her 2008 offer "Hard Candy".

From these albums, we selected the lead singles off of seven of them for our poll:

"Like A Virgin" (from "Like A Virgin", 1984), "Live To Tell" ("True Blue", 1986), "Like A Prayer" ("Like A Prayer", 1989), "Erotica" ("Erotica", 1992), "Secret" ("Bedtime Stories", 1994), "Frozen" ("Ray Of Light", 1998) and "Hung Up" ("Confessions On A Dance Floor", 2005).

All in all, 10,321 votes were cast, and "Hung Up" was chosen by our readers as the fave among Madge’s lead singles.

Here are the results:

"Hung Up" (29%, 2,947 Votes)
"Like A Prayer" (28%, 2,876 Votes)
"Like A Virgin" (20%, 2,024 Votes)
"Frozen" (12%, 1,202 Votes)
"Erotica" (5%, 468 Votes)
"Live To Tell" (4%, 442 Votes)
"Secret" (2%, 353 Votes)

"Hung Up", which Madonna co-produced with Stuart Price, and which samples ABBA’s 1979 classic "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)", pretty much went toe-to-toe with "Like A Prayer", which Madge co-wrote and co-produced with her onetime frequent collaborator Patrick Leonard, over the two weeks the voting went on.

In the end, the whole thing was just for fun, and now we’ll be looking ahead to new music from lady Madonna.

Until then, we’ll just quote from this poll’s winning song, and note that, indeed, time goes by so slowly.

Madonna On Amy Winehouse. RIP Amy!

With a tragic death of Amy Winehouse today, we take a look back on what the two divas had to say about each other...

"At age 11, I used to listen Madonna's The Immaculate Collection every day", said Amy Winehouse, before she discovered black and pop-jazz music.

And Madonna stated, in her 2008 interview for ELLE magazine: "I think Amy Winehouse is amazing. She is dealing with many demons, but is young and has an incredible talent. I hope she can make it to the top."

RIP, Amy!
